Series 5 Filming To Start Next Week

Matt Smith has confirmed that filming for Series 5 (or Series 1, or Season 32, depending on who you listen to) is due to begin next week. Bumping into a fan in Cardiff, he didn't say any more, but hopefully this means we'll soon get to see that all-important costume and start hearing more coherent rumours about the eagerly awaited series.

2 Entertain have announced the UK Region 2 DVD release of Doctor Who The Twin Dilemma on 7th September 2009 priced at £19.56 RRP. Starring Colin Baker, in his first appearance as the sixth Doctor, and Nicola Bryant as his companion, extras on this release include:

  • Stripped for Action - The Sixth Doctor (dur. 17' 45") - a look at the Fifth Doctor's comic strip adventures from the pages of Doctor Who Magazine. Featuring interviews with artist John Ridgway, writer Simon Furman, former Doctor Who Magazine editors Alan McKenzie, Gary Russell and Alan Barnes.
  • Breakfast Time (dur. 9' 53") - Colin Baker and Nicola Bryant interviewed by Frank Bough and Selina Scott on the BBC's breakfast TV show.
  • Blue Peter (dur. 10' 01") - Colin Baker interviewed by Janet Ellis on the long-running childrens' magazine show.

The Keys of Marinus in September

2 Entertain have announced the UK Region 2 DVD release of Doctor Who The Keys of Marinus on 21st September 2009 priced at £19.56 RRP. Starring William Hartnell as the first Doctor, this six-part adventure was originally transmitted in 1964. Written by Dalek creator Terry Nation it was the fifth Doctor Who story to be made.

  • Commentary - with actors William Russell and Carole Ann Ford, director John Gorrie and designer Raymond Cusick. Moderated by Clayton Hickman.
